I am organising a tour this November for feminist free improvisation pioneers Les Diaboliques: Scottish vocalist Maggie Nicols, French bassist Joëlle Léandre and Swiss pianist Irène Schweizer.
Schweizer and Nicols were members of the iconic Feminist Improvising Group (FIG) and performed with Léandre in the European Women’s Improvising Group.
They formed Les Diaboliques in 1990.
The tour is funded by Arts Council England and Pro Helvetia, and delivered in partnership with Rosehill Arts (Brighton), Out Front! (Derby), EFG London Jazz Festival, Arnolfini (Bristol), Piano Shop Bath and Great Bear Analogue and Digital Media.
