Unfinished Business – 2020

As part of my role as Research Fellow for the Business of Women’s Words: Purpose and Profit in Feminist Publishing, I had the opportunity to work as a Curatorial Consultant for the British Library’s exhibition Unfinished Business: the Fight for Women’s Rights.

I helped shape the exhibition narrative, selected key objects and audio content and wrote interpretative text.

I wrote a chapter ‘Recovering Traditions, Inspiring Action’ for the exhibition catalogue, edited by lead curator Polly Russell and Margaretta Jolly. This explores how feminist pioneers are reclaimed, remembered and celebrated by activists, publishers and artists from later generations.

A short article ‘Music as Protest’ also features on the accompanying ‘Women’s Rights’ education site.
